6 VEGAN / RAW / GLUTEN FREE / DAIRY FREE BIRTHDAY CAKE ALTERNATIVES!
Hey Mum’s and Dad’s!
Peanut allergy, lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, sugar free.. the way we are eating is changing along with our awareness of how different foods affects our bodies. I have noticed over the last few years that more and more people are getting fairly sensitive towards certain foods, this includes our younger generation also, which can make birthdays a bit challenging, when all you want is to cater to all your guests needs!
I haven’t always been a kids entertainer, I have also had the wonderful experience of working in a local organic cafe in the Armadale Hills, The Organic Circle, where my main role in the kitchen was baking raw/baked treats, along with custom orders for special events and birthdays.
A great easy tip for making gluten free cakes, just substitute normal flour for Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Flour. I have worked with it before and I can highly recommend it. It’s not super expensive either and can be bought at most health food stores and even at Coles!
With the intention to make life easier and putting my heart out to everyone with food allergies, I have surfed the web and found some of the funkiest, coolest and fun alternatives to your traditional kids birthday cake. These cake recipes are either raw, gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar free or vegan. Now there are some handy options to choose from that makes everyone happy!
Off we go!..
1.DAIRY FREE BANANA ICE CREAM SANDWICHES (GLUTEN FREE VEGAN)

With spring on the way and summer to hit us before we know it, this classic idea is sure to be a winner in our dry Australian heat. The great things is, there is no dairy involved! this is such a easy recipe, the ice cream is purely frozen bananas! hard to believe, but I make ice cream from frozen bananas and vanilla essence all the time. It really works! whack your bananas in a blender with the vanilla essence, maybe add some chunky organic peanut butter and off you go!
Laura from petiteallergytreats.com really has some good things happening on her website. Coming from a family with multiple allergies, this mum really understands how to create healthy, delicious foods that everyone can enjoy!

We used to make a similar version at The Organic Circle and it would sell out within 24hrs, it was so popular!
